ALBUQUERQUE, NM—The perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your special someone is at the South Broadway Cultural Center on

Thursday, February 16th at 7 p.m. when the popular Carolyn Martin Swing Band takes the stage to perform sassy, poignant, sweet and downright

romantic tunes. There will be areas to dance if you desire.

This award-winning band takes swing beyond the confines of traditional western styles. While the band performs western swing classics from Bob Wills,

Cindy Walker and Spade Cooley, they cross the divide to bring swing era songs from Peggy Lee, Hoagy Carmichael and Louis Armstrong. Then they

throw in a few show tunes from Broadway and Hollywood, traditional country tunes from Faron Young and Hank Williams, and new material written

by Martin and her friends. For those who like variety in their music, The Carolyn Martin Swing Band is a true treat for the ears.

A native Texan who has lived in Nashville for many years, Martin began singing professionally while growing up in Abilene, and within a few years was traveling

and performing throughout Texas and the rest of the US. Since settling in Nashville in 1985, she has had the pleasure of working with many of the most talented

musicians and singers in the world.

Martin’s fans love her for her pure voice and unique sense of musical style. From Europe to Nashville, with many stops in between, Martin has charmed audiences

with her charismatic presence and soulfully elegant vocals.

Carolyn Martin was twice nominated, and was the 2008 recipient of the Academy of Western Artists’ Will Rogers Cowboy Award for Western Swing Female Vocalist

of the Year. Her CD, “Swing,” was nominated as Western Swing Album of the Year by the Western Music Association and western swing DJ’s and reviewers around

the world named “Swing” as one of the Top 10 albums of the 2008. In 2011, her album, “Cooking With Carolyn” won the Western Music Association’s album of the

year, winning over bands such as Asleep at the Wheel and Hotclub of Cowtown.

So if you are looking for a special way to celebrate your love with your sweetie, this is the place! Tickets for the performance are $15 per person. Attendees are

encouraged to reserve their seats in advance by calling 505-298-5589 or e-mailing inquiry@siliconheights.com. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day
